The Pilot Club of Denham Springs seventh annual "Farewell to Winter" Spring Tea & Silent Auction was held March 21, 2009 at Ashley Manor in Baton Rouge. The 200 guests attending the increasingly popular event were served brunch at tables lavishly decorated in the varied theme choices of the member designers. The highlight of the event was the well-sponsored silent auction, which received generous donations. Keynote speaker for the event was DOTD's Gordon Nelson, who spoke about the I-12 corridor and Hwy. 190 projects and the present and future effects they will have on Livingston Parish residents. The event raised approximately $10,000 to help fund the Pilot Club's many generous community projects, the most ambitious of which is the Kidz Korner Playland, a cooperative endeavor between the Pilot Club Foundation and the City of Denham Springs to provide a playground for children of all abilities and physical levels. The park is currently under construction at the corner of River Road and Government Posted: Thursday, May 7, 2009 12:00 am | Updated: 11:02 am, Tue Oct 27, 2009.http://livingstonparishnews.com/living/article_f5012014-9d42-560d-aac6-261bd01a76fe.html Donating ItemsWhile the End of Winter Tea is our pride and joy each and every year, the event would not be possible without the generous contributions from our many donors.
